Activision appears to be gearing up for a conversation about its next installment in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise, cleverly using a reference within Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to hint at this development.

Recently, a discovery made by a gaming outlet pointed out mentions of the beloved skateboarding series in an unexpected location following the release of the Season 2 Reloaded update for Black Ops 6. Among a collection of new features, weapons, and other content, a nostalgic skate-themed map known as Grind has made its return. This iconic skatepark arena has maintained much of its original flair, with one notable addition: a large in-game television screen displaying a logo reminiscent of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater alongside a date set for March 4, 2025.

Attention has been drawn to a potential teaser for a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater-related announcement within the Grind MP map of Black Ops 6.

This reference is subtle yet significant for fans eagerly anticipating another title in the series. Speculation regarding an upcoming announcement began circulating earlier this week when professional skater Tyshawn Jones mentioned that he would soon appear in a new Tony Hawk video game.

During a discussion on a popular podcast, Jones remarked, “I’m in a Tony Hawk coming out, so that’s cool. They got a They're currently remastering a new version that's set to be released soon. I was involved in the previous one one.” This intriguing hint has fueled excitement among fans, and the recent Easter egg in Black Ops 6 seems to indicate they will soon discover additional details about what lies ahead. However, the exact details surrounding the March announcement remain a mystery.

Activision attempted to revitalize the franchise with the launch of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 in 2015, but a new numbered entry hasn’t materialized since then. In 2020, fans were treated to remakes of Pro Skater 1 and 2 by Vicarious Visions, which makes the absence of a new Tony Hawk title over the last five years particularly noticeable. With accumulating signs pointing toward a significant reveal in the coming month, it seems the long wait is drawing to a close.

As anticipation builds for the reveal scheduled on March 4, players can also explore other skateboarding-themed content within Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 Reloaded, which includes a set of cosmetics featuring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that have sparked some discontent among fans. Additionally, Tony Hawk himself has confirmed his collaboration with Activision from last year.
