Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is set to arrive next month. In anticipation of its release, we're receiving a wealth of details indicating that this additional content will significantly enhance the experience beyond what we've previously seen from FromSoftware.

However, temper your expectations when comparing it to the original game, particularly regarding narrative conclusions. In a conversation with the Chinese media platform Zhuanlan-zhihu (credit to MP1st), Hidetaka Miyazaki stated that the expansion would feature fewer narrative findings. However, it will still offer players the opportunity to shape the story.

"The expansion is designed as a standalone entity. Hence, choices made within the main game will not influence the expansion narrative. Regarding the narrative conclusion, there isn't a definitive 'finish' or 'conclusion.' Naturally, the expansion won't possess the variety of endings the core game offers, yet players will encounter several 'decisions' throughout their gameplay."
