Unveiling Ghost of Yotei: The Awaited Sequel to Ghost of Tsushima
Sucker Punch has officially unveiled Ghost of Yotei, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. This adventure will bring a new protagonist and a different region of Japan into play. The game debuted during the PlayStation State of Play September 2024 showcase displaying an astonishing open-world experience, reminiscent of the mesmerizing journey that Jin Sakai presented in the previous game.
Together with the reveal, assurance also came that the sequel was set to arrive sometime in 2025. With news of a Ghost of Tsushima movie in the crafts as of 2021, anticipations for a Ghost of Tsushima 2 has spiraled, making this announcement all the more thrilling. The new game, Ghost of Yotei, promises to be another successful addition, especially given Yotei’s past success in attracting newcomers to the open-world adventure format. Alongside these announcements, Sony has also reiterated its commitment to release "major single-player games" every forthcoming year.
Expected Release Date
For now, Ghost of Yotei is set to release in 2025, although Sucker Punch has yet provided only the year for its expected release window so far. Following its official announcement, we'll have to wait sometime to get a more precise release date.
While only confirmed for a PS5 exclusive release at present, speculation is rife that it may follow its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima, to be available on PC at a later stage.

Who is the protaganist in Ghost of Yotei?
Sucker Punch has posted a PlayStation blog revealing its intent to "create something fresh but familiar" introducing a new protagonist named Atsu. Andrew Goldfar, senior communications manager at Sucker Punch says, "We love origin stories and we explore what it means to have a new hero wearing a Ghost mask and uncovering a new legend - Ghost of Yotei."
Renowned actor Erika Ishii, who's also lent her talents to Apex Legends, Destiny 2, and BioWare's latest RPG, Dragon Age: Veilguard, is set to voice Atsu.

Where is Ghost of Yotei Set
Sucker Punch has revealed that Ghost of Yotei will take place over 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, set in the lands surrounding Mount Yotei, a central peak in Ezo, now known as Hokkaido. The setting, teeming with "unexpected dangers," starkly contrasts to the organized samurai clans who lived in Tsushima. The sequel's backdrop promises an impressively picturesque and detailed view, marked by sprawling grassy fields and snowy landscapes.
