7. Michigan Central Station in Detroit, U.S.A.

The massive Michigan Central Station (also referred to as Michigan Central Depot or MCS) has stood empty and abandoned for more than 30 years. The iconic Detroit train station was opened in 1913 and was the tallest railway station in the world. Today, Ford plans to transform MCS into a walkable, innovative 30-acre campus.
