G-Switch 2 review

G-Switch 2 is a dynamic adventure action game by Serius Games. It’s a sequel to the original G-Switch with modified gameplay. Now you can run and jump in any direction and stick to any surface, breaking the laws of gravity. G-Switch 2 is available on Google Play and the App Store along with other installments of the series. You can also play it online on the official website. Adobe Flash is necessary.

Storyline 9/10

G-Switch 2 tells us a story of a lonesome runner who struggles through miles of metal mazes. He lost all his memories in an unknown accident, and now you have to help him to unveil the mystery and get back to where it all started. Your way will be full of tangled labyrinths that require you to have a good speed of reaction and to be inventive. All ways are made of metal so that the character can stick to them using his magnet boots. To move towards the end of the level, you have to catch the right moments to jump from platform to platform. Unlike the previous chapter, G-Switch 2 features not only flat platforms. Instead, there are numerous shapes and multi-surface stages. It means that you can complete the same level differently.

If the single-player mode seems too simple for you, try to survive with up to 3 other players in the multiplayer mode. It supports cross-play on iOS and Android as well as local co-op. Up to 4 players can play together on a single device. Each of you can customize the appearance of the character or use the random skin. It’s comfortable to play together even on a small smartphone screen due to one-tap controls. You just have to tap the screen in time to jump and change the lane. Sometimes you have to deal with dangerous obstacles, such as spikes, explosives, lasers, pillars, and many more.

Graphics and Sound 9/10

The visual side of G-Switch 2 has improved a lot since the previous chapter. Now the game has a 3D background that pictures beautiful urbanscape. It moves along as you progress, making the gameplay feel dynamic. The quality of gameplay visuals became better too. It doesn’t look so edgy anymore. Besides, it’s finally enabled to work with iPad Retina displays without quality loss.

As for the soundtrack, it remains almost unchanged. However, it supports the dynamics of the unstoppable runner and perfectly fits into the urbanistic setting. As a result, the game looks and feels holistic. It’s a niche experience without any borrowed features and generic elements.

G-Switch 2 is an addictive platformer with excellent visuals and reinvented gameplay. Developers from Serius Games did their best to improve G-Switch and invented a lot of new mechanics. It became more complex, diverse, and atmospheric. We recommend you to try all 3 chapters of G-Switch as it’s a great classic platform arcade adventure with original gameplay and exciting scenario. The multiplayer mode for 4 players is also a unique feature of the series. If you’re a fan of the original game, you will love it at first sight. G-Switch 2 is available for Android and iOS for free.
